Spanish Traffic experts to consider GPS ban
Published January 25th, 2007In Spain, the director of the General Traffic Department (DGT), Pere
Navarro, announced today that a panel of experts has been put together to
review a number of issues, one of which is the use of SatNav.
They will assess the use of in-car SatNav systems, although “for the time
being” the department is recommending that they only be used when the
vehicle is parked. Notwithstanding, should it emerge that drivers are
ignoring this advice, their use may be prohibited on the same grounds that
mobile phones are banned.
